  • The right to information (Article 15 EU GDPR),
  • The right to deletion (Article 17 EU GDPR),
  • The right to rectification (Article 16 EU GDPR),
  • The right to data portability (Art. 20 EU GDPR),

The same applies if you have questions about data processing in our company or would like to revoke your consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

4. Rights to object

Please note the following in connection with the right to object:

If we process your personal data for direct advertising purposes, you have the right to object to this data processing at any time without providing reasons. This also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to direct advertising.

If you object to processing for direct advertising purposes, we will process your personal data no longer for these purposes. The objection is free of charge and can be made informally, if possible to: datenschutz@uvex.de.

If we process your data to protect legitimate interests, you can object to this processing at any time for reasons relating to your particular situation; This also applies to profiling based on these provisions.

We will then no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate reasons for the processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or the processing serves to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

5. Purposes and legal basis of data processing

When processing your personal data, the provisions of the EU GDPR and all other applicable data protection regulations are complied with.

The legal basis for data processing arises in particular from Article 6 of the EU GDPR.

We use your data to initiate business, to fulfill contractual and legal obligations, to carry out the contractual relationship, to offer products and services and to strengthen customer relationships, which may also include analyzes for marketing purposes and direct advertising.

Your consent to data processing can also constitute a permission requirement under data protection law. Before granting your consent, we will inform you about the purpose of data processing and your right of withdrawal.

If the consent also relates to the processing of special categories of personal data, we will expressly point this out to you in the consent. Special categories of personal data will only be processed in accordance with Article 9 of the EU GDPR if this is required by legal regulations and there is no reason to assume that your legitimate interest in excluding processing outweighs this.

In certain cases, we also base the processing of your data on a legitimate interest in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) of the EU GDPR. Data processing only takes place if this serves to protect our own legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of third parties and a balancing of interests has not shown that your interests, fundamental rights and freedoms outweigh them.

6. Disclosure to third parties

We will only pass on your data to third parties within the framework of the legal provisions or with the appropriate consent. Otherwise, it will not be passed on to third parties unless we are obliged to do so due to mandatory legal regulations (e.g. transfer to external bodies, such as supervisory authorities or law enforcement authorities).

7. Recipients of the data / categories of recipients

Within the UVEX Group, we ensure that only those people who need it to fulfill their contractual and legal obligations receive their data. Within the UVEX Group, this affects the following companies:

  • UVEX ARBEITSSCHUTZ GmbH
  • laservision USA
  • UVEX SAFETY Austria GmbH
  • UVEX Arbeitsschutz (Switzerland) AG

The transfer may be necessary, e.g. E.g. if you apply for a position advertised by an affiliated company via our central applicant portal. For the purpose of analyzing our internal processes and technical support, data is passed on to UVEX WINTER HOLDING GmbH & Co.KG. Marketing analysis data is also passed on to the above-mentioned companies. It cannot be ruled out that personal data will also be transmitted. We therefore transmit personal data, subject to your consent, to the above-mentioned companies if they were intended for one of the other above-mentioned companies (e.g. if direct delivery from another country is desired or another company is responsible).

In certain cases, other service providers support our specialist departments in fulfilling their tasks. The necessary data protection contracts have been concluded with all service providers.

8. Third country transfer / third country transfer intention

Data transfer to third countries (outside the European Union or the European Economic Area) only takes place if this is necessary to carry out the contractual relationship or is required by law or if you have given us your consent to do so.

We transfer your personal data to service providers and group companies outside the European Economic Area, among others to the USA. You can find a list of tools/service providers including details of the processing location under point 14.1 “Tools used”.

The contracts required by data protection law have been concluded with all service providers.

9. Data storage period

We store your data as long as it is needed for the respective processing purpose. Please note that numerous retention periods mean that data (must) continue to be stored. This applies in particular to commercial or tax retention obligations (e.g. Commercial Code, Tax Code, etc.). Unless there are further retention obligations, the data will be routinely deleted after the purpose has been achieved.

In addition, we may retain data if you have given us your permission to do so or if legal disputes arise and we use evidence within the framework of statutory limitation periods, which can be up to thirty years; the regular limitation period is three years.

10. Secure transmission of your data

In order to best protect the data we store against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons, we use appropriate technical and organizational security measures. The security levels are continually checked in collaboration with security experts and adapted to new security standards.

The data exchange to and from our website is encrypted. We offer HTTPS as the transmission protocol for our website, each using the current encryption protocols.

12. Categories, sources and origin of data

The data we process is determined by the respective context: This depends, for example, on whether you place an order online or enter an inquiry into our contact form, whether you send us an application or submit a complaint.

Please note that we may also provide information for special processing situations separately in an appropriate place, e.g. when uploading application documents or when making a contact request.

The storage period of the data is limited and deletion takes place as soon as the data no longer needs to be retained for processing purposes. If the data is collected to display our website correctly, this will be the case after the session has ended. When data is stored in log files, the data is deleted or anonymized after 7 days.

12.2 As part of a contact request, we collect and process the following data:

These are the type of request, the content of the request, last name and first name and your email address. These mandatory details are marked with a *(star).

In addition, your IP address is processed for technical reasons and for legal protection. All other data are voluntary fields and can be entered optionally (e.g. to answer your questions more individually).

In order to best protect the security and confidentiality of your data, we implement appropriate security measures. Your request will be transmitted to us in encrypted form.

If you contact us by email, we will process the personal data provided in the email solely for the purpose of processing your request. If you do not use the forms provided to contact you, no further data collection will take place.

We collect the following data:

  • Salutation
  • Last name, first name
  • Email address

  • Address
  • Department
  • VAT ID
  • Telephone

Registration is therefore either necessary to fulfill a contract (via our online shop) with you or to carry out pre-contractual measures, or is possible if guest access is also provided.

The principle of data economy and data avoidance is observed here, as only the data required for registration is marked as a mandatory field with an asterisk (*). These are e.g. B. the email address and password.

For orders in our online shop, we also require information about the billing address (title, first name, last name, address) for delivery. If the delivery address differs from the billing address, the above information for the delivery address must also be provided.

By registering on our website, the user's IP address, the date and time of registration are also stored (technical background data). By clicking the “Register now” button, you give your consent to the processing of your data.

Please note: The password you provide will be stored encrypted by us. Employees of our company cannot read this password. They cannot therefore provide you with any information if you have forgotten your password.

In this case, use the “Forgotten password” function, which will send you an automatically generated new password by email. No employee is authorized to request your password from you by telephone or in writing. Please never give your password if you receive such requests.

Once you have completed the registration process, your data will be stored with us for use in the protected customer area. As soon as you log in to our website using your email address as a user name and password, this data will be made available for actions you carry out on our website (e.g. for orders in our online shop). Executed orders can be tracked in the order history. You can specify changes to the billing or delivery address here.

Registered persons have the opportunity to independently make changes/corrections to the delivery address in the order history. Our customer service will be happy to make changes to the billing address/corrections if you contact them. Of course you can cancel or delete your customer account. Please contact our customer service.

12.4 We collect and process the following data when placing orders

If you place an order in our online shop, we process the following data in order to process the order:

  • Salutation
  • Last name, first name
  • Email address
  • Data that may lawfully be processed from other sources

For the purpose of delivering the ordered goods, we pass on your address details to the commissioned shipping service provider. The legal basis for this is Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter b EU GDPR:

  • DHL (DHL Paket GmbH, Sträßchensweg 10, 53113 Bonn)
  • GLS (General Logistics Systems Germany GmbH & Co. OHG, GLS Germany-Straße 1 – 7, DE-36286 Neuenstein)
  • Spedition Amm (Amm GmbH & Co. KG Spedition, Hamburger Straße 99, 90451 Nuremberg)

  • Franken-Express (FEX FrankenExpress GmbH, Nordostpark 56, 90411 Nuremberg)

Transfer of data to shipping service providers:

As part of the ordering process, you have the option of selecting the additional shipment tracking function from individual shipping service providers. If you select this function, we will forward your email address to the shipping service provider. This enables the shipping service provider to inform you by email about the current shipping status and to arrange a delivery date with you. The legal basis for the data transfer is your consent in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a of the EU GDPR. You can revoke your consent to us or the shipping service provider at any time in the future.

12.5 Payment systems (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a, b EU GDPR)

In our online shop you can pay in advance or by invoice. For technical reasons and for legal protection, your IP address will be processed.

The principle of data economy and data avoidance is observed in that you only have to provide us with the data that we absolutely need to carry out payment processing and thus to process the contract or which we are legally obliged to collect.

Without this data, we will unfortunately have to refuse to conclude the contract, as we will then not be able to carry it out.

12.6 For newsletters we collect and process the following data:

You can subscribe to a free newsletter on our website.

As part of the newsletter registration, the following data is collected:

  • Last name, first name
  • Email address
  • Industry
  • The IP address assigned by your Internet service provider
  • Analysis data from the embedded tracking pixel (time the newsletter was opened, links accessed)

The principle of data economy and data avoidance is observed here, as only the email address is marked as a mandatory field. Providing your name and industry is voluntary; if you provide your name, it will be used to send the personalized newsletter. For technical reasons and for legal protection, your IP address will also be processed when you order the newsletter.

We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to send newsletters by email. This means that you will only receive advertising by email if you have previously expressly confirmed that we should activate the newsletter service. We do this by sending you a notification email and asking you to confirm that you would like to receive our newsletter at this email address by clicking on a link contained in this email.

You can of course end your subscription at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in the newsletter and thus revoke your consent.
